Vestibular Therapy

Dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems can be disruptive and frightening, often affecting work, daily activities, and overall quality of life. Vestibular therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to treat inner ear and balance disorders, helping reduce symptoms and restore stability, confidence, and function.

What is Vestibular Therapy

Vestibular therapy focuses on treating conditions related to the inner ear and balance system. These disorders can cause dizziness, spinning sensations, unsteadiness, nausea, and difficulty focusing or walking. A thorough evaluation helps identify the source of symptoms so treatment can be targeted and effective.

Common Symptoms Include

  • Vertigo or spinning sensations
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Balance loss or unsteadiness
  • Nausea related to movement
  • Difficulty focusing or blurred vision
  • Symptoms triggered by head or body movements

Conditions We Treat

Our clinic treats a variety of vestibular-related conditions, including:

  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
  • Vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis
  • Inner ear dysfunction
  • Post-concussion dizziness
  • Balance issues following illness or surgery
  • Chronic dizziness or motion sensitivity

How Vestibular Therapy Helps

Vestibular therapy uses evidence-based techniques to retrain the brain and nervous system to process balance signals correctly. After a detailed evaluation, your licensed therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your symptoms and tolerance.

Treatment may include:

  • Canalith repositioning maneuvers (for BPPV)
  • Gaze stabilization exercises
  • Balance and coordination training
  • Habituation exercises to reduce dizziness
  • Postural and movement retraining
  • Education on symptom management and fall prevention

Our Approach

As a small clinic, we take a personalized and thoughtful approach to vestibular care. Treatment is always provided by licensed professionals using proven techniques and state-of-the-art equipment. We focus on integrity-driven care, patient education, and steady progress—helping you regain confidence in your movement and daily life.

When Should You Seek Vestibular Therapy?

You may benefit from vestibular therapy if you:

  • Experience ongoing dizziness or vertigo
  • Feel unsteady when walking or turning
  • Avoid activities due to fear of symptoms
  • Have balance issues following a concussion or illness
  • Have been diagnosed with an inner ear disorder

Early treatment often leads to faster symptom relief and improved outcomes.
